Erica was selected as one of the lucky 18 scientists that was able to attend the Marine Biological Laboratory Molecular Mycology and Pathogenesis course in Woods Hole, Massachusetts.

Fortunate to be part of the long line of mycologists since the course was started by the late Jack Edwards and . The course was completely transformative, filled with lectures taught by experts in the field, one-on-faculty meetings, and exciting laboratory experiments. The community was built amongst peers. Woods Hole Traditions. Erica completed her goals to combine her structural biology background and fungal biology techniques with advanced experimental knowledge in the field.
